Both male and female Marsh Harrier were hunting the reedbeds below the viewing area over No 6 tank and providing crippling views! A male and female Wigeon over the Weaver estuary were hangers on. The Common Swifts were typically showy, otherwise a poor showing overall.
Could this image of a Grey Heron and Common Shelducks be a birding first? It was captured through the lens of a theodolite!
Observers: Paul Crawley (& image), Frank Duff, WSM (& image).
Not on the marsh but a flock of 450 Black tailed Godwit were in the Weaver valley about a quarter mile upstream from the A56 on flooded fields. 340 still present on the 2nd.
Observer: John Gascoyne
